Moped Safety

With the uncertain economic climate still  hovering over America, who wouldn’t want to save a few dollars? Many people are using alternate means of transportation as a way to save some cash.  Here in Arizona, motorcycles and mopeds are becoming increasingly more common.  But are they safe? Just last week, two people were killed in a  Phoenix crash and a moped driver was critically injured.  Per Arizona Revised Statute § 28-101(31): “Moped” means a bicycle that is equipped with a helper motor… and has a maximum speed of twenty-five miles per hour or less on a flat surface with less than a one per cent grade.  Be aware of smaller vehicles on the road, check your blind spots before turning or changing lanes and practice defensive driving techniques.
