Always Use a Crosswalk

Sometimes we think that crossing the street is no big deal, but if one does not use caution when doing so, it can end up in the loss of a life.  Just the other day, a grandmother was killed and her granddaughter was injured.  And just last night, another pedestrian was killed on 29th and Columbus.  None of the pedestrians were in a crosswalk.   Even though we may have the urge to to save a few seconds by skipping the crosswalk, it is never a safe idea to do so.  Always look both ways before crossing the street.  Never try to beat the crosswalk signal, if you don’t think you have enough time to make it across the street just wait.  Be sure that the road is clear before entering the crosswalk. Look, listen and be aware of your surroundings at all times and share the road with care!
