Tucson Fireworks Laws

The Fourth of July is less than a week away. Some residents may host parties and use fireworks. Some party hosts may consider buying fireworks.

Firework stands are starting to pop up all over Pima County. The key is to know the laws before you light anything.  The state of Arizona does allow the sale of certain types of fireworks. They include sparklers, smoke devices and novelties. Aerial fireworks are not allowed in the state, they include sky rockets and jumping jacks.

Also there are restrictions on the use of fireworks. In Oro Valley and Marana you can buy fireworks and use them, but in the city of Tucson you can buy fireworks, but can’t use them within the city limits.  Confusing, huh?

Bache & Lynch encourages party hosts to check their home owner’s insurance or an umbrella policy to see if it covers injury or damage due to fireworks.  Hopefully, no one will need this coverage, but it is good to know.

Have a happy and safe 4th of July!
